Driftwood Shingle Roof Near Garden Ridge

A full tear-off and a new Owens Corning Duration Storm roof in the Driftwood color, on a stone home in Comal County near Garden Ridge.

About This Project

This stone home sits on a big lot with live oaks all around and a long Hill Country view. The roof has long ridges, several hips and two stone chimneys. The old gray shingles were showing their age (you can see them in the before photos below), so we tore them off and put on a new roof.

We stripped the old shingles down to the decking, put down synthetic underlayment and installed Owens Corning Duration Storm architectural shingles in Driftwood, with matching hip and ridge caps. Driftwood is a warm tan and gray blend with a little rose in it, and it looks right at home with the light stone.

Up close

The Driftwood color up close, plus ridge caps, ridge vents, a chimney and a pipe vent. These are the spots where a roof usually leaks first, so we take our time on them.
