What Our Customers Say

Real reviews from our Angi listing, quoted word for word.

“Mike was very professional and knowledgeable and clearly explained the issues with my roof. The repairs were done promptly and efficiently. The cost was fair and reasonable. Cleanup was excellent. I would definitely recommend Rattler Roofing. I am very pleased with their service.”

— Dana H., Angi

“he came and looked at the roof and did not find a problem with it. But he did find a large pile of leaves behind the chimney and around the supports for the conduit from my solar panels. He said that that all the piles of leaves may have blocked the water from flowing down and that it then ran to the side and got under the tiles from the sided which caused the leak. He also went beyond looking at the roof and used a leave blower and his hands to clean off the roof and blow out my gutters. After doing all this he said that if this was not the problem call him and he would come back & find and fix the cause. All this for no charge! I would highly recommend Rattler Roofing and General Contracting LLC”

— Karl S., Angi

“Mike was professional, courtesy, punctual and HONEST. When we need a new roof he will be the one we call. We are also recommending him to all our families, friends and neighbors.”

Common Roof Leaks We Fix

Most leaks start at a weak spot, not in the middle of the roof. Here’s where we usually find them, by roof type.

Shingle roofs

Wind lifts and creases shingles and breaks the seal strip that holds them down. Hail knocks granules loose and bruises the shingle. Water also gets in around cracked pipe boots, loose flashing at walls and chimneys, worn valleys and backed-out nails. We replace the damaged shingles, fix or replace the flashing and boots, and match the repair to your roof as closely as we can.

Metal roofs

On exposed-fastener R-panel roofs, the rubber washers under the screws dry out in the sun and screws work loose, which lets water in at each hole. On any metal roof we also check the trim, flashing, pipe boots and sealant at ridges and walls. We replace worn screws, reseal trim and fix flashing. More on our Metal Roofing page.

Tile roofs

Clay and concrete tile cracks under hail, falling limbs and foot traffic, and slipped tiles leave the layer underneath exposed. Often the tile looks fine but the underlayment under it has worn out. We replace broken tiles, reset slipped ones and fix flashing. When the underlayment is the problem, we can lift the tile, put down new underlayment and reset it. See Tile Roofing.

Not sure where the leak is? Water can run along the decking before it shows up on your ceiling, so the stain isn’t always under the hole. That’s why we get up on the roof and trace it to the source.

San Antonio Weather and Your Roof

Roofs here take a beating. Spring storms bring hail that cracks tile and bruises shingles, and strong winds that lift shingles and peel back edges. Then the summer heat bakes the roof for months, drying out sealants, rubber pipe boots and screw washers until they crack and let water in. A small problem after a storm can turn into rotted decking if it sits through a few rains, so it pays to have it looked at early.

Storm damage? We’ll document it for your insurance claim, with photos you can send to your insurance company. For what to look for after a storm, see Hail Damage Roof Repair and Wind Damage Roof Repair.

What Affects Repair Cost

Every repair is different, and the price depends on what we find on the roof. The main things that affect it:

  • The cause and how far it spread. A cracked pipe boot is a small fix. A leak that has run for months may have soaked the decking underneath, and wet or rotted wood has to be replaced.
  • Your roof type. Shingle, metal and tile each take different materials and different work. Tile has to be lifted and reset by hand.
  • How steep and high the roof is. Steep or two-story roofs take more safety gear and more time.
  • Matching materials. Older shingles and tile can be hard to match, and some have to be ordered.

You’ll get a written estimate before any work starts, along with photos of what we found, so you can see what you’re paying for. Financing is available. If a storm caused the damage, your insurance may cover it. See how insurance claims work.

Our Repair Process

1. Free inspection

We get up on your roof and find where the problem starts, not just where it shows up inside.

2. Photos

We photograph what we find and go over the photos with you, so you see what we see.

3. Written estimate

You get a written price before any work starts. If a repair will do the job, we’ll tell you. If the roof is past fixing, we’ll show you why.

4. The repair

We fix the cause, not just the symptom: damaged shingles, tile or panels, flashing, pipe boots and any soft decking underneath.

5. Cleanup and walkthrough

We clean up the work area and walk through the finished repair with you.

Mike, the owner, handles your job from the inspection to the final walkthrough. Call or text (210) 418-ROOF, 7 AM to 7 PM, every day.

Roofing Warranties

The roofing products we install from the manufacturers we work with come with manufacturer warranties. What a warranty covers, and for how long, depends on the product and the manufacturer, so ask us what applies to your repair before work starts. Our Manufacturers page links to the warranty details from GAF, CertainTeed and Owens Corning.

Repair or Replace?

Not every problem needs a new roof. If a repair will do the job, we’ll tell you. If the roof is past fixing, we’ll show you why with photos.
