How the Claim Process Works
You file the claim with your insurance company yourself. We handle the roof side: finding the damage, showing it to your adjuster and doing the work.
1. Free inspection
2. You file the claim
3. We meet your adjuster
4. Estimate review
5. Repair or replacement
No claim? No problem. We also give straight cash bids. Financing available — ask us about financing.
We’re roofers, not public adjusters. Not sure what your policy covers? Your insurance agent or carrier can tell you, and we’re glad to help you get in touch with them.
Not sure you have damage? Start with a free roof inspection. If the damage is small or your claim isn’t approved, we can still fix it. See Roof Repair.

What to Do After a Hail or Wind Storm
- Call or text us. (210) 418-ROOF · Text us. We’ll come out, look at the damage and tell you what we find.
- Take photos from the ground. Get the roof, gutters, siding, window screens and any hail on the ground, with the date.
- Stay off the roof. A storm-damaged roof can be slick and weak in spots. Let us do the climbing.
- Cover active leaks if it is safe. Put a bucket under drips and move valuables. Only tarp from the ground or a safe spot, never in wind or rain.
- Get an inspection before the adjuster visits. Then you know what is damaged before your insurer’s inspection, and we can be there when the adjuster comes.
- Keep receipts. Save receipts for tarps, emergency repairs or other storm costs and give copies to your insurer.
- Watch out for door-knockers who show up after a storm and leave town when the work is done. Hire a local roofer who’ll still be here if something goes wrong.

About Your Deductible
Texas law (Chapter 707 of the Texas Insurance Code) makes the homeowner responsible for paying their insurance deductible. A roofer can’t waive, absorb or rebate it, so be wary of any contractor who offers to.
“Rattler Roofing exceeded our expectations. Mike is a great communicator and kept in touch with us throughout the process of working with our insurance company for a damage claim. Rattler Roofing has exceptional customer service.”
