Owens Corning Brownwood Roof in Garden Ridge

A full tear-off and a new Owens Corning Brownwood architectural shingle roof on a two-story stucco home in Garden Ridge.

About This Project

This two-story stucco home in Garden Ridge has hip roofs at several levels, a chimney and a view out over the trees. The old tan shingles were worn, and rust stains were running down the shingles on some of the lower roofs (you can see them in the photos below), so we replaced the whole roof.

We tore the old shingles off down to the decking, dried the roof in with synthetic underlayment and installed new Owens Corning architectural shingles in Brownwood, with matching hip and ridge caps. The darker roof stands out nicely against the tan stucco.

The old roof

Worn tan shingles, old box vents and rust stains running down the lower roofs. This is what we found when we first looked at the roof.

Tear-off

We stripped the old shingles down to the decking, so we could see the wood before anything new went on.

Underlayment

Synthetic underlayment went down over the whole roof, around the chimney and up to the stucco walls, before the new shingles.
