A residential town inside the north SA ring

Hollywood Park is an incorporated town in northern Bexar County, east of US 281 between Hill Country Village and the airport corridor. It is almost entirely residential — quiet streets, established trees, and a mix of mid-century ranch homes with traditional shingle roofs and newer houses with sharper modern lines.

Those modern lines matter on a roof inspection. Flat edges, low-slope sections, and glass-wall transitions show up alongside ordinary hips and ridges. Low-slope areas cannot be treated like a steep shingle field; membranes, edge metal, and drainage details decide whether water stays out. We inspect each roof type on its own terms and show you photos of what we find.

Rattler Roofing is family-owned in San Antonio. Mike Bailey (Reagan High School / St. Mary’s Rattlers) runs a crew that is about 70% roofing and 30% remodeling. We serve Hollywood Park with free on-roof inspections, repairs, replacements, metal work, and storm documentation. Call or text (210) 418-ROOF, 7 AM to 7 PM.

Shingles, low-slope, and metal

Most Hollywood Park homes still wear architectural asphalt shingles. We install brands such as GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning, and Malarkey, including impact-rated Class 3 and Class 4 products when hail resistance is a priority. See Roof Replacement.

Where a porch, addition, or modern low-slope section needs a different system, we say so instead of forcing shingles onto a pitch that will not shed water. For metal accents or full standing seam, see Metal Roofing. Tile homes get the details on Tile Roofing.

Spring storms bring hail and wind through this corridor the same way they hit Shavano Park and Hill Country Village next door. Creased shingles, bruised mats, lifted edges, and dented vents are what we look for from the roof — not from a drive-by. See Hail Damage Roof Repair and Wind Damage Roof Repair.

Repair vs replace

A leak at a pipe boot or a few wind-torn tabs is often a repair. When shingles are brittle across the field, or a prior storm left widespread bruising, replacement is the honest answer. Every replacement includes our 10-year workmanship warranty. We photograph soft decking before we replace it.

After a storm, stay off the roof. We document damage and can meet your adjuster. You file the claim; we do not waive or rebate deductibles. See Insurance Claims. Ventilation upgrades that help hot attics: Roof Ventilation.

Permits in Hollywood Park

The Town of Hollywood Park requires contractors to get the right permit before work starts, and homeowners should confirm the permit is in hand. Building permit applications are submitted in person at Town Hall — not online. Contractors bring ID, applicable state trade licenses, and a certificate of insurance listing the Town as certificate holder. We handle the contractor paperwork and schedule inspections through the town’s process.

How a job usually runs

We start on the roof with a camera, not a guess from the curb. Hollywood Park’s mix of traditional and modern lines means we check steep shingles and any low-slope or flat-edge sections in the same visit so the estimate covers the whole house.

Approved jobs get a written scope: tear-off, decking repairs as found, underlayment, and the new system. Steep reroofs often finish in a day; low-slope or mixed systems can take longer and we say so up front. Old materials are hauled away. You walk the finished work with us before we close the job.
